Richard “Rich” L. Johns, 72, of Clymer (Pine Flats), PA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 while a patient at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
The son of Rothard E. and Theda M. (Sensabaugh) Johns, he was born on September 11, 1953 in Indiana, PA.
Rich was a graduate of Penns Manor High School.
On May 5, 1978 he wed Cynthia “Cindy” L. (Kasparek) and they have shared forty-seven years of marriage together.
A man of deep faith, Rich was a member of the Twolick Valley Assembly of God Church in Indiana, PA. Rich’s church was of great importance to him. He regularly attended church services and served as a Deacon.
Prior to his retirement, Rich was employed as an IUP custodian working at Keith Hall for over thirty-two years. Earlier in his career, Rich had worked at McCreary Tire and Rubber Company.
Some of his favorite hobbies were hunting and tinkering with rifles and guns.
Devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren, Rich loved spending time with his family and going to PL sporting events to support his children and their teammates. Even after his kids graduated, Rich would continue to attend PL sports.
Rich is survived by his loving family, wife Cindy of Pine Flats, PA; sons: Rich L. Johns II and wife Jessica of Purchase Line, PA; Brian J. Johns and wife Sarah of Douglas, WY; daughter, Carrie L. Gray and husband Trenton of Gillette, WY; his ten grandchildren: Abigail; Hannah and Rachel Johns; Emma, Addison and Caleb Johns and Isabelle, Isaac, Oliver and Jace Gray and his sister, Yvonne Johns of Indiana, PA.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Pastor Paul Yarnal will officiate. Interment will be at the Cookport Methodist Cemetery in Cookport, PA.
Rich’s family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of IRMC and Allegheny General Hospital for all of their care and kindness extended towards Rich and their family.
