There was no change in leadership for the River Valley School Board after the reorganization meeting last night.
Rick Harper was re-elected board president while Connie Constantino was named board vice president. The main discussion of the night concerned where to hold the meetings in 2026. The proposed schedule had all meetings held in the River Valley High School Auditorium at the Blairsville Campus instead of alternating between the High School and the STEAM Academy at the Saltsburg Campus. Harper said that he feels the board meeting should be held where the district’s administrative offices are located.
New board member Glenn Richards said that alternating locations makes it fair to the taxpayers.
The board eventually voted 5-4 to hold all the meetings at the River Valley High School. The first meeting on that schedule is January 27th at 7:00 PM with the committee meetings being held on January 20th.
