College football’s early signing period began yesterday and Pitt signed 21 recruits, while the coach-less Penn State Nittany Lions signed only two. Pitt’s class is ranked number 43 in the nation by 247 Sports. They have two four-star recruits, two quarterbacks, and four players from the WPIAL, including defensive lineman Lincoln Hoke of North Allegheny, the son of former Steeler Chris Hoke.
As of late yesterday, Penn State had lost more than twenty recruits, eleven of whom followed fired coach James Franklin to Virginia Tech. The Nittany Lions signed two four-star prospects, both from Pennsylvania. One was quarterback Peyton Falzone of Nazareth High School and the other was edge rusher Jackson Ford of Malvern Prep.
