Several injured Steelers took it easy in practice yesterday while some others sat out the first workout in preparation for Sunday’s game against Buffalo.
Receivers DK Metcalfe and Ben Skowronek both were absent, as was quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whose fractured left wrist makes him the biggest question mark for Sunday. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr., linebacker Alex Highsmith, and defensive lineman Cam Heyward were limited.
Rodgers says he expects to practice today. Rodgers says the Steelers have a chance to rebound from their uneven play of late.
Cam Heyward says the Steelers can’t afford to lapse again, as they did against the Bears last Sunday.
Tight end Pat Freiermuth is the Steelers’ nominee for this year’s NFL Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. All 32 NFL teams nominate a player, and eight finalists are chosen for a vote by players across the league, with the winner announced in February.
