Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s computer science program has been ranked seventh in the nation by Cybersecurity Guide in its 2026 rankings — the only program in Pennsylvania to make the list of top computer science programs with a cybersecurity emphasis.
Cybersecurity Guide evaluates schools using data from the National Center for Education Statistics, looking at student-faculty ratios, graduation and retention rates, admissions, and cost. The recognition comes just a year after IUP placed 21st in the 2025 rankings.
Department Chair Dr. Tim Flowers says the honor reflects the strength of IUP’s hands-on approach and the support of a growing network of cybersecurity alumni across the country.
More than 130 students are currently enrolled in the cybersecurity track, which focuses on cybercrime detection, loss prevention, and digital evidence collection. The program is part of IUP’s Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, which offers several computer science degrees and minors in both computer science and cybersecurity.
