There is nothing suspicious to report after a Pittsburgh Giant Eagle store was shut down due to a bomb threat last night.
Officers responded to the supermarket on Wharton Street around 8:15 p.m. after an anonymous 911 caller claimed there were explosives in the building. The Pittsburgh bomb squad brought in explosives detection dogs to sweep the property after about 40 or 50 people were evacuated. An “all-clear” was given around 10 p.m. after nothing dangerous was found.
A Giant Eagle spokesperson says the store will open on the normal schedule this morning.
