A man was ordered to serve probation for a guilty plea to one charge connected with a fire in Indiana last month.
Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco accepted a guilty plea from 23-year-old Moises Hernandez Us, who has addresses in Indiana and Ford City, on a charge of reckless burning, while two counts of arson and a single charge of reckless endangerment were not prosecuted. He will serve two years of probation on top of paying court costs, fines and restitution. Police say that he claimed that he was trying to set himself on fire, but accidentally set the apartment at Wayne Avenue and Maple Street ablaze last month. Several other tenants in the building were displaced.
