PennDOT says it’s been an active construction season in District 10, including numerous projects in Indiana County.
The three highest-impact projects in Indiana County included
- The $4.3 million in safety improvements at the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Rustic Lodge Road in White Township, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2026;
- The $4.7 million construction of the pedestrian bridge over Route 22 in Burrell Township, which should be complete next summer;
- And the $4 million replacement of two bridge structures with box culverts, one carrying River Road over Mardis Run in Buffington Township and the other carrying River Road over Blacklick Creek in East Wheatfield Township. Those two bridges are scheduled for completion in the spring of 2028.
District 10 also includes Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, and Jefferson counties.
In all, the 2025 construction season included 50 construction projects,120 miles of resurfacing, and work on 19 bridges. As of October 31st, District 10 bid 32 projects at an estimated cost of $130 million, including 10 highway projects, 15 bridge replacements or rehabilitations, two safety projects, and three local projects.
