The Penguins shut down Nashville behind rookie goaltender Sergei Murashov yesterday as the Global Series concluded in Stockholm, Sweden. Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Murashov earned his first-ever win in the NHL, stopping 21 shots.
The Penguins announced before the game that rookie forward Ville Koivunen suffered a lower body injury in Friday’s overtime loss to the Predators, and is considered day-to-day. He was replaced by veteran Danton Heinen in the lineup yesterday.
The Pens flew home to Pittsburgh yesterday. They will get some rest and return to work on Friday and Saturday, with games against the Minnesota Wild and the Seattle Kraken.
