The IUP men’s basketball team is 2-0 after winning Saturday in the Hilton Garden Inn Tip-Off Tournament at Memorial Fieldhouse on the IUP campus. Todd Marino has the story of IUP’s win over Lincoln.
WOMEN
IUP opened its season with an easy 97-53 win over Elizabeth City State on Saturday in Petersburg, Virginia. Five players scored in double figures for the Crimson Hawks, led by Belle Bosch, who came off the bench to score 14. The other four double-digit scorers all had 10: Nyshae’ Weaver, Marin Miller, Madison Zavasky, and Kamiya Dambreville.
IUP made 24 of 31 free throws and held a 20–6 advantage in second-chance points. The Crimson Hawks also forced 17 steals and scored 30 points off turnovers.
IUP will play host school Virginia State this afternoon.
