We mourn the loss of Grant Hunter and yet we celebrate Dad’s arrival at his eternal home. He dedicated his life to preparing for it. He went peacefully in the presence of his family at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA on November 9, 2025, at the age of 96.
The son of Victor and Ollie (Cramer) Hunter, he was born on November 27, 1928, in Derry, PA and grew up in Brush Valley, PA.
He served in the Army during the Korean War as an Equipment Engineer, based in Japan. He had many occupations of labor through the years and supported his family in so many ways. He enjoyed travel, hunting and playing games with his family. However, his life was committed to studying, living and sharing the word of God as a minister. He will forever be remembered for his love, laughter and acceptance of everyone to his table as family.
Surviving are: his wife of 69 years, Gladys (Frederick) Hunter, Indiana, PA; their children: Lorna Vite, Indiana, PA, Karen Serball, Berlin, PA, Edward Hunter and his wife Jeanne (Sidelinger), St. Marys, PA, Craig Hunter and his wife Dawn (Jeffries), Canonsburg, PA; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Hunter and life partner, Barb Pipchok, Brush Valley, PA, sister, Diane Lohr and husband Robert Lohr, Indiana, PA.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Grant Dale; sister, Audrey LaRue Lanier, brother, David; son in law, Donald J. Vite.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday 11/15/25 at the Brush Valley Chapel at 3021 PA Rt 259 Indiana, PA 15701 outside of Brush Valley, PA. Pastor Gregory Parks will be officiating. Friends will be received to celebrate Grant’s life immediately following the service, inside the chapel.
Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Ridge, the Indiana County Blind Assn., the Dementia Society of America, the American Cancer Society or to the Brush Valley Chapel in honor of Grant.
