The Pitt Panthers got off to a fast start last night and won over Eastern Michigan 78-66. Pitt was in the lead by over 10 points within the first seven minutes of the game, and kept up the fast pace, going on a 22-4 run before halftime. Cam Corhen led the Panthers with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Omari Witherspoon chipped in 15. Damarco Minor added 12 of his own. As a team, Pitt was 50% from the floor, but the problems continued for the Panthers from the free throw line, making 12 of 23 attempts.
Next up for Pitt is the basketball version of the “Backyard Brawl” as the Panthers head to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers.
