It looks like Springdale Mayor Joel Anderson is winning reelection by one vote.
Unofficial tallies from Allegheny County officials show the incumbent Republican picking up 517 votes in Tuesday’s election, with Democrat candidate John Murray getting 516 votes. There are 13 write-in votes for the race, but none of those are for either candidate. Elections officials say there are still ten provisional ballots for Springdale voters that are being examined.
Pennsylvania law does not require recounts for close municipal races. Local voters would have to request and pay for one.
