Tuesday night, the United School Board approved a resolution to ask state lawmakers to bring the now four-month budget impasse to an end.
The district joins others across the state in approving the resolution put together by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. Superintendent Dr. Richard Lucas said that this is urging Governor Josh Shapiro and members of the legislature to get a spending plan in place so money can go out to the school districts.
As far as United goes, Lucas said they are doing ok for now.
The board also approved an attorney-client fee contract with Frantz Law Group, as they will represent the district along with several others in a lawsuit concerning opioid addiction. The board also accepted the resignation of varsity volleyball coach Lyda McAdoo effective immediately.
