W. Paul Shaffer, 79, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his home.
The son of Wilson D. and Pauline (Boartz) Shaffer, he was born June 2, 1938 in New Kensington, PA.
Paul was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville and was a life member of B.P.O.E. #406, Blairsville.
He was a self-employed truck driver for 62 years.
Paul drove his coal truck but he showed his truck with great pride in numerous shows and won many awards.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Darlene A. (Ziruolo) Shaffer whom he married May 29, 1979; three children, Deborah (Joseph) Tubbs of the Poconos; Robert P. (Kirsten) Shaffer of Loveland, Ohio and Karen Shaffer of California; three grandchildren, Ashley Shaffer, Emma Shaffer and Claire Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
As per Paul’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
Keep it the way it is. No ID of any kind required.
Some sort of ID required
Photo ID, with exceptions for religious purposes
Strict photo ID, no exceptions
