Philip James Burtick, age 73 of Aultman, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017.
He was born in 1943 in Indiana to John and Louise Helen (Kubala) Burtick.
Jim was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, and looked forward to his Tuesday poker games with his buddies. He was a dedicated gardener, hunter, and fisherman.
Jim served in the United States Air Force for eight years, afterward earning his LPN License at Torrance State Hospital and retired from there in 1996.
Jim was a member of Post 403 American Legion, a life member of Tide Sportsman Club, and C & Y Sportsman Club.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters – Teresa Chapman and husband Eric, Slippery Rock; Maria Ogeka, Erie; grandchildren – John Ogeka, Kyha Whittall-Chapman, Gillian Chapman; siblings – Edward Burtick and his partner, Lucy Gallo; John Burtick and wife Bonnie; and Brenda Leger and husband John. He is also survived by his friend and partner, Margie Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JOhn and Louise Burtick, his wife Ann T. (Hartnett) Burtick who died in 2014, and nephew Shonn Leger.
Friends will be received on Monday, September 11, from 5-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. Internment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
