Authorities have arrested a man accused of assaulting two people with a baseball bat in Westmoreland County.
The incident occurred last Thursday at about 10 pm in the parking lot of a GetGo station in Salem Township on Route 22. Police report that Reno James Roberts, 26, of Murrysville, allegedly punched the two victims before retrieving a baseball bat from a vehicle trunk and striking them.
Pennsylvania State Trooper Steve Limani, Troop A Community Services Officer, stated that one of the individuals previously attacked had been in a relationship with Roberts. At the time of the incident at GetGo, they were with a new partner when Roberts confronted the couple in the parking lot.
Both victims were taken to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment
Roberts faces two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault. His bail has been denied, and he is currently being held at Westmoreland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 28.
