James B. Bergreen, 89, of Smithport, PA, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital, DuBois, PA.
The son of Leonard and B. Faye (Leamer) Bergreen, he was born on March 8, 1928 in Barnesboro, PA.
For decades, Jim was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #66.
He was a long time social member of the Glen Campbell American Legion Post #435.
Jim enjoyed going on his trips to the casino.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jim married Clara I. Huey on July 28, 1946 and they shared seventy-one years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Clara of Smithport, PA; four children: Carol Johns and husband, William, Sr. of Smithport, PA; Larry J. Bergreen and wife, Deborah of Punxsutawney, PA; Donald Bergreen and wife, Mary of Rossiter, PA and Shirley Pisano and husband, John, Jr. of Rossiter, PA; his eleven grandchildren: Williams Johns, Jr. and wife, Melissa; Julie Young and husband, Scott; Sheri Ward and husband, Mark; James E. Bergreen and wife, Jeanette Frigo; Steve R. Bergreen; Donald Bergreen, Jr. and wife, Amy; David Bergreen; Della Jane Krolick; John Pisano, III; Julie Pisano and David Pisano: his seventeen great-grandchildren: Shane Johns; Tori Johns; Cody Young; Sheldon Young; Amber Ward; Jacob Ward; Cameron Bergreen; Caylee Bergreen; Marran Frigo; Cheyanne Poerio; Josephinia Sterling; Darren Bergreen; Savannah Welder; Bryce Bergreen; Breenna Bergreen; Brady Bergreen and Logan Ziegler.
Jim was preceded in death by her parents; his great-grandson, Robert Bergreen and his sister, Ruth Smith.
Family and friends will be received from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where immediately following the visitation a 3:30 p.m. funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Raymond Hill. Interment will follow at the Burnside Cemetery, Burnside, PA.
