PennDOT has announced the closure of multiple Route 422 ramps starting next Monday.
From October 20th to 22nd, the east- and west-bound off-ramps at Watts Hill will close for some road work. Drivers on Business Route 422 will take Route 422 east to the Oakland Avenue exit, turn left onto Route 286, turn left onto Indian Springs Road, proceed onto Ben Franklin Road and then back to Business Route 422. Motorists traveling Route 422 westbound will take the Oakland Avenue exit, turn right onto Route 286, turn left onto Indian Springs Road, proceed onto Ben Franklin Road and then back onto Business Route 422.
Then from the 22nd to the 24th, the Route 422 eastbound on-ramp from Business Route 422 and the on-ramp to Route 422 westbound will be closed. To detour motorists will take Business Route 422, turn right onto Ben Franklin Road, turn right onto Route 286, and take the Route 422/Route 56 Kittanning/Shelocta exit onto Route 422 westbound.
Derry Construction out of Latrobe will handle the work. The $14.5 million project is expected to wrap up this December.
