Some important election deadlines are coming up soon.
Next Monday, October 20th, will be the last day for anyone to register to vote before the election next month. There are four options for you to register if you haven’t yet:
- Online
- By mail
- In-person at the county election office
- At a PennDOT or one of many government agencies.
To be eligible to vote, you must be 18 years of age on or before the day of the primary, register at least 15 days before the next election, be a citizen of the U.S. for at least one month before the next election, and a resident of Pennsylvania for at least 30 days.
Two weeks from today is the deadline to apply for a civilian mail-in ballot. Ballots must be back to the courthouse by 8 PM on election day. The Pennsylvania State Department says that a postmark of 8:00 PM on the envelope for the mail-in ballot will not count.
The municipal election will be held November 4th.
