Katherine (Fryer) Wolfe, 78 of Clymer, PA went to be with her family on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
The daughter of Dane E. Fryer and Dora D. (Huey) Fryer, she was born on December 14, 1938 in Bells Landing, PA.
She was married to Robert “Bob” Wolfe on September 13, 1956. They were married for forty-four years before he passed away in 2001.
In her younger years, she was an avid gardener. Katherine always had a large flower garden and vegetable garden. She had spent many hours canning and freezing her vegetables.
Katherine was a hunter of deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel and coon. She ‘bagged’ them all!
In 2009, she started to read novels. Katherine read thousands of them. She mainly read romance/intrigues, but also loved her cowboy/rancher romances.
Of houseplants, she had many, spending hours to make sure they grew well and bloomed properly. Katherine loved to feed wild birds and the hummingbirds. She made sure they had nectar when they arrived and thorough out the year.
Her two cats, Kitty and Sharon were her buddies. They followed her everywhere, even to the bathroom! Katherine loved the end of season sales (when prices were up to seventy percent off). She got a lot of gifts that way for birthdays and Christmas, which was her favorite holiday, where she was always surrounded by family. She made a delicious meal and spent time with family members.
Katherine always watched Days of Our Lives. She started watching it when it first came on television. When it came to music, no one could out sing Hank Williams, Sr. He was the absolute best in her eyes and of course she also enjoyed listening to classic country music!
Katherine enjoyed the quiet country life and being a quiet country woman.
She was always a wonderful mother to Bryan, Diane and Lisa and a loving grandmother to Amanda; Cassandra; Shane; Alasia; Melissa; David and Justina. She dearly loved her great-grandchildren, Gavin; Parker Adele, Isaac, Aiden and Zaidalyn.
Katherine is survived by her three children: Bryan Wolfe and wife Corinne; Diane “Sis” Hill and husband Tim; Lisa Riggle; her seven grandchildren; her six great grandchildren Alasia, Melissa and David Mauk; six great grandchildren and three sisters: Doris M. Freeman; Patricia Gray and husband Blair and Linda Johns and husband Cecil.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dane and Dora (Huey) Fryer; her husband, Robert “Bob” Wolfe and siblings: Alda Jane Williams; Charles Elbel; James Fyer; Clifford Fryer and Dora Adams and her cousin, Zetta Jane Williams.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with Pastor Calvin Duvall officiating. Interment will be at the McDowell Cemetery on Grismore Road, Clymer, PA.
