Lois “Jean” Tost, age 88 of Indiana, formerly of Plumville, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana.
She was born in 1929 in NuMine to Joe and Mona “Goldie” Umbaugh Eckman. She married the late Paul Oscar Tost on April 23, 1950 and was the sister of the late Cecil McKinney.
Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Plumville. She enjoyed working the election polls in Plumville, camping, cooking, baking, playing cards, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A resident of Plumville for nearly 35 years, she has resided in Indiana for the past 32 years.
She is survived by three daughters and one son – Kathy Yutzey and husband Gregory, DuBois; Karen Boyer and husband Tracy, Elderton; Larry Paul Tost and fiance’ Carol Johnson, Indiana; Lori Williams and husband Eugene, Indiana; 11 grandchildren – Amy Yutzey Snyder and husband Zachary, DuBois, Randy Yutzey and wife Heather Reynolds-Yutzey, DuBois, Jill Yutzey Latsha and husband Kyle, Dunedin, FL; Toni Boyer Pritt and husband David, Kittanning, Nicki Boyer Chuhran and husband Ted, Indiana; Scott Boyer, Elderton, Paul Tost, Indiana, Corey Tost Bird and husband Thomas, Dawsonville, GA; Holly Galonis Paris, and husband Adam, Portland, OR, Madison Galonis Smith and husband Lewis, Indiana, Matthew Galonis, Indiana; 15 great grandchildren – Ethan, Liam, William, Aria, Meline, Jack, Elise, Claire, Carmen, Nolan, Cameron, Rynnlee, Parker, Alec, Liza Jean.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Oscar Paul Tost in 2003.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Kathryn Ward Stear officiating. Private Interment will be made in the Smicksburg Cemetery.
