A Fayette County woman is being released from prison after previously being accused of starving her two-year-old daughter to death.
Lydia Wright, born prematurely in 2014, died in 2016 from malnutrition and dehydration, with her weight recorded at just over ten pounds. The coroner at the time—who has since passed away—later admitted that he had made an error in recording the child’s weight following Andrea Dusha’s 2018 murder conviction.
Largely based on this revelation, Dusha was granted a new trial this summer. She subsequently pled no contest to charges of endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person, and was sentenced to time served.
