Marc-Andre Fleury will practice with the Penguins at noon today and play a portion of tomorrow’s preseason game against Columbus. The retired 40-year-old says it’s his way of saying thank you to the Penguins fans and bringing his career around full circle, to the team he started with as the number one overall draft pick in 2003. Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin are all expected to make their debuts tomorrow and will share the ice with Fleury for the first time since April 29th, 2022.
The Penguins play the Detroit Red Wings tonight in their first home preseason game, but the lineup has very few regulars in it. One notable name is the goaltender: Tristan Jarry will make his preseason debut. He’ll play half the game. Forwards Connor Dewar, Danton Heinen, Blake Lizotte, Tommy Novak, and Philip Thomasino will dress for the game and defensemen Ryan Graves and Ryan Shea are also expected to suit up.
