VOLLEYBALL
Indiana shut out River Valley 3-0 in a non-Section match yesterday. The scores were 25-21, 25-11, and 25-17. Paige Fisanich had 9 kills and 5 digs. Hannah Stone had 5 kills and 14 assists. Emily Ferraro had 4 kills and 4 blocks. Allison Lichtenfels had 4 kills and 4 blocks. Gianna Boyer had 3 kills and 3 blocks.
Indiana also won the JV match, 2 sets to 1.
BOYS GOLF
Indiana’s Austin Schawl and Drew Brocious will both advance to the second round of the WPIAL Finals after yesterday’s golf at Willowbrook Golf Club in Apollo. Schawl shot 72 and is in a tie for fifth. Brocious shot 76 and is tied for sixteenth. The second round is Tuesday at Butler Country Club.
Chace Force and Beau Raykes also competed yesterday. Force shot 82 and Raykes 89.
The top fourteen WPIAL golfers after the second round will advance to the PIAA state tournament.
GIRLS GOLF
Celebrating their Senior Night, River Valley’s girls defeated Indiana by nineteen strokes at Chestnut Ridge yesterday. Indiana’s Julia Antonacci was medalist with a 42, For River Valley, Maren Dunlap shot 47, Ashley Pynos 50, Alessia LaMantia 51, and Madigan Dunlap 52. For Indiana, Laken Kugler shot 56, Lyla Pangonis 58, and Lelise Allison 63.
Indiana’s Julia Antonacci will compete today in the WPIAL individual championship in Beaver.
