L. Rosella “Rose” Pardee, 88, of Hillsdale, PA died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the AristaCare at Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale, PA.
The daughter of Thomas and Elsie May Rose (Lambing) Jobe, she was born on July 2, 1928 in Idamar, PA.
Rose had been employed as a nurse’s aide at Mountain View Nursing Home in Hillsdale, PA from 1972 until her retirement in 1986.
Her life revolved around her family. She had a passion for going to yard sales with her sister and making sure that everyone, even strangers, had a fully belly. She greatly enjoyed camping with old friends and her grandchildren. She thoroughly loved family picnics.
Rose married Joseph Delmont Pardee on August 27, 1946 and their family grew to include three children: Denny; Terry and Deb.
Rose is survived by her son: Terry D. Pardee and wife Betty (Parrish) of Cherry Tree, PA; daughter, Debra J. Johnson and husband Bill of Hillsdale, PA; daughter-in-law, Deborah (Beyer) Pardee Wissinger and husband, Don of Marion Center, PA; seven grandchildren: William Johnson, Jr. and wife Misty; Justin Johnson and wife Lisa; Christopher Pardee; Tracy (Pardee) Skomra and husband Ryan; Alex Pardee and fiancée Leah Umlie; Casey (Pardee) Elling and husband Lee and Samuel Pardee and five great grandchildren: Joseph; Dakoda and Sierra Johnson and Daniel and Jackson Elling.
Also surviving are her brother, Harold Jobe and wife Ellen of Marion Center, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph on October 4, 1971; her son, Clifford “Denny” Pardee on November 9, 1999; brothers: Alex; Harry and Allen Jobe; sisters: Irene Knox; Dorothy Lightner and Winifred Lydic and her baby brother, Lester Jobe.
Family and friends will be received from 6-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Pastor John Traxler will officiate. Interment will be at the Mahoning Union Cemetery in Marchand, PA.
