On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved a non-binding letter of interest for the sale of the Horace Mann Elementary School Building.
Pivotal GP Holding, LLC wishes to purchase the building and repurpose it for low-cost apartments for families on fixed incomes. Superintendent Robert Heinrich said that this is still in the early phases.
Their offer is for $470,000, which is the current estimate for the property. The building was decommissioned last year and parts of it are currently leased to Merakey.
In other business, by a 5-4 vote, Sally McCombie was named the board vice president. McCombie, Eric Adams, Eric Brocious, Joshua Muscatello and Doug Steve voted in favor of her nomination while Walter Schroth, Julia Trimarchi Cuccaro, Tom Harley and Quintina Thomas voted for Thomas to serve as the Vice President.
McCombie will serve in that position until December 2025 or until a successor is elected.
