LaRue (Claypoll) Sipes, age 84, of Home, PA, passed away peacefully at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home on Friday, June 9, 2017.
She was born in 1932 in North Buffalo, PA, to Shirden and Nellie Mae (Cousins) Claypoll.
LaRue was a member of the Old Mahoning Baptist Church, and was a very active member until her final years.
She enjoyed flowers, her vegetable garden, and was active with the Plumville Lion’s Club.
She is survived by her daughters – Teri Sipes of New Kensington; and Holly Cowie of Romney, WV; grandchildren – Ashley (Joseph) Chrisman; Courtney Cowie, Garrett Cowie, Hannah Cowie, Noah, Destini, Miriam, Jose, Mirranda, and Lydia Cowie; great grandsons – Markus Chrisman, Dante and Damon Cowie.
LaRue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband – Stanley R. Sipes in 2015; siblings – Estel Shirey, Mary Forringer, Lida Cousins, Rosella Porter, Patricia Plunkett, Kenneth Claypoll, Harvey Claypoll, and Edward Claypoll.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church. Interment will be held at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church Cemetery.
