Among the items for the Indiana Area School Board to consider Monday night is a letter of interest for the purchase of the Horace Mann Elementary School building on South Fifth Street. The building was decommissioned by the school district in May and is currently leased to Merakey Education Center. The company interested in purchasing the building is Pivotal Group, LLC.
The full board meeting will be preceded by a meeting of the Audit & Finance Committee and the Policy & Personnel Committee, which will discuss a program that would provide monetary compensation to families for re-enrolling in the school district from outside cyber schools.
Marion Center’s school board is also scheduled to meet on Monday, after having considered last week the appointment of a new board member to fill the vacancy representing Region 1. There are also some personnel items up for approval.
River Valley’s board will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday.
