Indiana County’s first responders were busy on Friday with nine calls for service.
Among those calls was the 77th brush fire call of the year on Route 119 North in White Township at 8:34 PM. Indiana Fire Association was dispatched to the scene. Fire officials say that this would be a false alarm as they did not find anything in the area of the reported fire, which was near the Clymer Exit on Route 119 North. This would mark the third call of the day for Indiana firefighters, as they also responded to two automatic fire alarm activations. The first was at 1:38 PM on Philadelphia Street and the other at 6:49 on Overlook Drive in White Township.
A vehicle accident was also reported yesterday on Cookport Road in Green Township. The Commodore fire department, Citizen’s Ambulance and State Police were sent to the scene at 9:54 PM, with the fire department setting up a landing zone nearby at 10:12 PM.
