HELEN GROMLEY, 83

Helen M. Gromley, 83, of Glen Campbell, PA died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Lee Gilford and Jeannetta (Conner) Gromley, she was born on November 3, 1933 in Staford, PA.
A hard worker, Helen was a longtime employee of the former Mountain View Nursing Home in Hillsdale, PA, where she worked as a nursing assistant. For ten and a half years she had been a coal miner at the Greenwich Collieries. She had also worked at the shoe factory in Big Run and for Punxsy Sportswear.
Helen enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, where she could be found tending to her garden; watching the birds from her porch and walking in the woods to pick wild strawberries. She enjoyed running her metal detector, especially in the area where old coal mining homes were once present. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time at the dam with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Siford of Cherry Tree, PA; her five grandchildren: Robert Gromley, Jr and wife, Beth; Melinda M. Fetterman and husband, Brad; Jesse L. Gromley and wife Christine; Branden Gromley and Allison Gould and husband Brian and her seven great grandchildren: Katlynn and Logan Gromley; James and Braden Fetterman; Abby Gromley and Harper and Lundynn Gould.
Helen is also survived by her brother, Harold G. Gromley and wife Thelma of Brookville, PA and her special family, Kenny and Darla Travis and their daughter, Ciera.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David L. Gromley in 1994; son, Robert E. Gromley in 2003; son-in-law, Paul O. Siford in 2014; brother, Harry “Jock” L. Gromley and wife Helen and her special little buddy, her dog, Corkie.
Family and friends will be received from 6-9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Pastor Clayton Harriger will officiate. Interment will be at the Gardner Cemetery in Montgomery Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
