The Eastern League’s Southwest Division best-of-three series resumes tonight at Erie, where the Altoona Curve have a 1-0 series lead over the SeaWolves. Right-hander Antwone Kelly will start for the Curve against Erie lefty Andrew Sears.
Kelly is 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA in 25 starts this season, fourteen of them with Greensboro and eleven with the Curve. With Altoona, he’s 1-1 with an ERA of 3.00. One of his starts was against Erie, last Friday when he threw one-and-two thirds innings and gave up one run on two hits. With two walks and two strikeouts.
Sears is 8-6 this season, having gone 7-4 at High-A West Michigan and 1-2 with a 5.02 ERA in six starts for Erie. He threw four shutout innings against Altoona last Tuesday, giving up one hit, striking out four and walking one.
Game three of the series, if necessary, will be played tomorrow night in Erie.
