PennDOT is announcing some closures later this month for a project going on in East Wheatfield Township.
From September 23rd to the 25th, all four ramps at the interchange of Routes 22 and 403 will undergo a milling and resurfacing project, with the ramps closing from 6 AM to 6 PM each day. Two ramps will be closed at a time, which will allow access to 403 via the detour routes, with the Eastbound ramps open while the Westbound ramps are closed, and vice versa.
There will be two detour routes associated with the ramp closures, one for each direction. Traffic will use the Route 56 ramps at the west end of the project for the westbound closure and the Wehrum Road jug handle on the east end of the project for the eastbound detour. Both detour routes will direct traffic back onto State Route 403.
All work is weather dependent. Grannas Brothers of Holidaysburg is working on the project, and they expect to wrap up by the end of October.
