A documentary about the life of Pittsburgh Pirates legend Roberto Clemente will debut in theaters today.
mTuckman Media is releasing the film “Clemente” today in theaters across the area, including Indiana Mall’s MovieScoop theater. Other screenings are scheduled for this weekend at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh on Saturday and in PNC Park on Sunday. The film is directed by Indiana native David Altrogge through his company Vinegar Hill productions. The timing of the release coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month and Major League Baseball’s annual Roberto Clemente day on September 15th.
The film explores the life, career and impact of Roberto Clemente, examining his character, philanthropy and life instead of his stats and playing career. The film features interviews with Clemente’s family, Michael Keaton, Rita Moreno, Bob Costas, Yadier Molina and many others.
After this weekend’s showings, the film will play nationwide on the History Channel on September 23rd at 8:00 PM.
