Ella Jane (Greene) Brocious, 82, of Marion Center, PA went to be with her Lord unexpectedly on the morning of Sunday, May 14, 2017 while peacefully at her home.
The daughter of Thomas Amby Greene, Sr. and Cora Estella (Brickell) Greene, she was born on August 10, 1934 in Crown Meadows, Allegheny County, PA.
Jane was a longtime active member of the New Life Lutheran Church, where she was also the oldest living female member. She enjoyed being involved in the Care and Prayer Quilter Group.
She was a part owner of the Brocious Racing Stables, where she enjoyed traveling all over Pennsylvania to watch her horses compete and spend time with her friends in the racing community for the last thirty-three years.
Jane was an Indiana Regional Medical Center hospitality cart volunteer. In her spare time, she enjoyed completing sewing; knitting and crocheting projects to give to her family and friends.
Her life revolved around her family and her faith. She was a loving and devoted mother; grandmother; great and great great grandmother.
She married her husband, Harold Ray “Lefty” Brocious on July 12, 1954. They had shared almost fifty-four years of marriage together when he died on July 4, 2008.
Jane is survived by her five daughters: Karen Gray and husband Gary of Clymer, PA; Tina Rae Loughry and husband Thomas of Marion Center, PA; Rebecca Rougeaux and husband Robert, Jr. of Rochester Mills, PA; Mary Ellen Frye and husband Jerry of Rochester Mills, PA and Darla DeCarlo of Marion Center, PA; thirteen grandchildren: Mitchell Ray Gray and wife Darlene; Machele Scott and husband Matt; Morgan Jane Adamson and husband Michael; Rachel Bratton; Thomas Loughry, Jr. and wife Joelene; Melissa Jane Vaughn and husband Jayson; Emily Jane Martin and husband Ben; Robert Rougeaux, III; Benjamin Satterlee and Kayla; Andrew Paul Satterlee and wife Krystal; Elizabeth Jane Roach and husband James; Sarah Jane DeCarlo and Maria DeCarlo; nineteen great grandchildren: Micah Gray and wife Bridgette; Trenton Gray and wife Carrie; Mackenzie Gray; Triston Gray; Harold Chase Gray; Colton Gray; Tyler and Ella Scott; Michael; Marshall and Maddox Adamson; Jordon Bratton; Madelyn Rae and Raegan Loughry; Jayce Ray Vaughn; Rebecca Jane and Abigail Rae Martin; Kane Satterlee and Luca Roach and her two great great grandchildren: Isabelle and Isaac Gray.
Jane is also survived by her five siblings: Ruby Orr of London, KY; Bernard “Bud” Greene and wife Donna of Clymer, PA; John Greene and wife Dora of Dixonville, PA; Virginia Ankele of Centerville, PA and Barbara “Geri” Greene of Fort Myers, FL; sister-in-law, Helen Greene of Clymer, PA and brother-in-law, Roy Woods of Clymer, PA
On her husband’s side of her family, Jane is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Lemmon of Indiana, PA; her three brothers-in-law, Charles Brocious and wife Kay of Decker’s Point, PA; Carl Brocious of Dixonville, PA and Barry Brocious of Decker’s Point, PA; sister-in-law, Marsha Fuqua of Indiana, PA; step sister-in-law, Lois DeHaven of Marion Center, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: James Greene and Thomas Greene, Jr.; sister, Victoria “Vickie” Woods; two brothers-in-law, Albert Ankele and Laird Orr; her sister-in-law, Hazel Greene and her nephew, Adam Ankele.
Deceased relatives on the Brocious side of her family, include her four brothers-in-law: Paul, Jr.; Howard and Dennis Brocious and Blaine Lemmon; her three sisters-in-law: Sandra Brocious; Beverly Brocious and Dianne Brocious and her two nephews: Terry Lemmon and Tom Brocious.
Family and friends will be received from 1-3:00 p.m. and 6-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, May 18th, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the New Life Lutheran Church, 1209 Leroy Road (at Bethel Church Rd) between Dixonville and Marion Center, PA. Immediately following the hour of visitation Thursday morning, an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place at the church. Pastor Stephen C. Bond will officiate. Interment will follow at the New Life Lutheran Cemetery situated beside the church.
