VOLLEYBALL
It was a tight matchup with Derry last night for Indiana High, but the girls held off Derry, three games to two.
Paige Fisanich recorded the 500th kill of her career, one of her 25 on the night. Chloe Hain handed out 23 assists. Allison Lichtenfels had seven kills and Hannah Stone had five kills and 12 assists. Rylin Blystone had five digs.
GIRLS GOLF
River Valley’s girls golfers are 9-0 after breaking 200 and beating Northern Cambria by 32 at Chetremon Golf Course. Madigan Dunlap and Alessia Lamantia led the Panthers, both shooting 45. Maren Dunlap shot 48 and Ashley Pynos 54. Northern Cambria was led by Ava Paronish, with a 48.
Armstrong snapped Indiana’s four-match winning streak with a nine-stroke win yesterday at the Indiana Country Club. Indiana’s Julia Antonacci was medalist with a 46. Indiana is back on the Country Club course Thursday for a match with Plum.
BOYS GOLF
Conemaugh Township and Homer-Center battled stroke-for-stroke at Chestnut Ridge yesterday, with the Indians prevailing by three strokes, 212-215. CT’s Hayden Miller was medalist with a three under par 33 with Ben Steinbeck shooting even par 36 and Logan Serenko a 39. The Wildcats were led by Brayden Rado, who shot 40. Ty Steffey shot 42, Jordy Arone 43, and Aiden Darr and Reece Coy both shot 45.
Homer-Center falls to 8-2 with the loss.
