A Westmoreland County man has pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal drug overdose case.
Prosecutors said that in 2020, Steven Shively supplied heroin to 30-year-old Jason Schwartz, who later died as a result.
On Monday, Shively entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter and Judge Scott Mears of the Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court sentenced Shively to a jail term of 6 to 23 months, but granted him immediate parole. Shively had already spent 218 days in custody after his arrest and has remained free on bail for the past four years.
In addition, the judge ordered him to serve five years of probation, which includes one year of house arrest.
