IUP has announced plans for “Family Weekend” this weekend.
Events will include a jazz recital on Friday, September 12th featuring music faculty member Laura Ferguson at Gorell Recital Hall in John Sutton Hall. The Alumni Legacy Breakfast will be held Saturday morning at the KCAC with about 700 people representing 230 families will be in attendance. A formal welcome will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM. Other events include the football game on Saturday where the new class for the IUP Athletics Hall of Fame will be introduced.
The events wrap up on Sunday with the “Run for the Health Of It” fundraising 5k run and 1 mile walk at 10 AM. The start will be at IUP’s Zink Hall, with the course winding around IUP. Those interested in taking part can follow the link below. Proceeds from the event will go towards the development of a “Food as Medicine” program that addresses health and nutrition needs in rural communities.
