Rosemary “Mem” (Muller) Buckshaw, 79, of Indiana, was called home by Jesus to live with Him in Paradise on Friday, May 5, 2017.
She was the daughter of Lawrence C. and Margaret I. (Crilley) Muller, born on Feb. 10, 1938, in Indiana.
Rosemary was a lifelong resident of Indiana, where she and her husband of 56 years, James, made their home and raised their family. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Indiana, where she volunteered for more than 50 years in many different ways.
Mem, as she was known by family and friends, was adored and loved by all who knew her. Her Irish eyes and genuine smile always brightened the room. In the kitchen, one could always find a loaf of Memmy’s famous banana bread, a bag of chocolate chip cookies or a hot pot of Hamburg soup. Her eternal dedication to serving God guided her every day as a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great aunt and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, James G. Buckshaw, Sr., of Indiana; her five children: James G. Buckshaw, Jr. and wife Melanie (Armstrong), of Kennesaw, GA; Julie A. (Buckshaw) Fontana and husband John, of Johnstown; Joseph J. Buckshaw and wife Kimberli (Atria), of Pittsburgh; Susan M. Buckshaw and boyfriend Paul Goddard, of Vienna, VA; and John L. Buckshaw and wife Heidi G. Malin, of Indiana; sister, Barbara (Muller) McKee, of Indiana; a brother, James Muller and wife Joanne; brother, Joseph Muller; brother-in-law, Stanley Spence, all of Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Sara (Salem) Eggleston and husband Henry; Alyson (Salem) Clingan and husband Brad; Corey Salem and fiancée Kathryn Summerville; Natalie (Buckshaw) Collins and husband Cuyler; Joshua Buckshaw; Mitchell and Sydney Goddard; Nicholas, Lily Rose and Maria Buckshaw; four great-grandchildren: Micah and Andrew Eggleston and Mackenzie and Madeline Clingan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Regina (Muller) Dietrick and Margaret (Muller) Spence and a granddaughter, Hannah Nicole Salem.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, staff, aides, administration and volunteers at St. Andrew’s Village for their love, support and care shown to Rosemary during her time at St. Andrew’s. Rosemary held a special place in her heart for those who took such good care of her and was especially close to the nurses and aides who were involved in her daily care. For that love, compassion and friendship shown toward Rosemary, words cannot express how appreciative the family is.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. A brief committal will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made in Rosemary’s memory to St. Bernard Regional Catholic School, 300 Clairvaux Drive, Indiana, PA 15701 or to St. Andrew’s Village, 1155 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
