The Altoona Curve picked up their 7th win in a row with a 6-4 win over Richmond last night.
Kervin Pichardo blasted a two-run homer and Derek Berg picked up two hits to lead the Altoona offense. Domenic Perachi got the win after going five and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs and five hits, but striking out three.
Altoona holds a five-game lead in the Southwest Division over Erie with eight games remaining in the Second Half. Erie already earned the First Half Championship and Harrisburg’s lost Friday night at Chesapeake. This means Altoona can clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight against Richmond. For this critical game, Wilbur Dotel will start for the Curve.
