Robert G. McCroskey, Sr., age 81 of Indiana, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in 1936 in Pittsburgh to James A. and Helen Bondino McCroskey.
Bob attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Indiana, and was a member of the United Rubber Workers. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army. He was employed by the Birdwell Gas Co. for many years. He was also employed at McCreary Tire and Rubber Co. until his retirement.
Bob was a very loving and giving person. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was also a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife of 15 years, Anna Mae Henry Frain McCroskey, Indiana; one son R. Gene McCroskey, Jr. and wife Brenda, Homer City; two grandchildren, Jenni Bortner and husband Craig, York Springs; R. Timothy McCroskey and wife Jenn, Homer City; one great grandson, Dylan McCroskey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife M. Doris Fisher McCroskey, his daughter Debra Kintz, and by his seven sisters and five brothers.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9 to 11 A.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jon Martin officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
