Pirates Charities will host a special baseball fantasy camp this weekend at the YMCA of Indiana County.
Saturday’s fantasy camp will give athletes with special needs a chance to learn and play baseball, similar to the camps and clinics run by Major League Baseball. Activity stations include hitting, throwing and catching skills, and will be led by players from the Pirates and the Altoona Curve along with team executives and Pirates broadcaster Greg Brown. Each participant will receive a personalized Pirates jersey and a gift bag.
This is in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Miracle League of Indiana County at the YMCA. Pirates Charities gave significant aid to help build the adaptive field at the Y. Since then, it has helped children and adults with special needs to play baseball.
