A woman from Westmoreland County is accused of defrauding donors out of tens of thousands of dollars.
Authorities say 29-year-old Vanessa Lewis, of Oklahoma Borough, created a GoFundMe campaign claiming the money was to support a family member injured in a motorcycle crash. Relatives grew suspicious after discovering photos of Lewis vacationing on a cruise.
Prosecutors now allege she diverted the funds—totaling $37,000—for her own personal use, leading to theft by deception charges.
