A Sharpsville man is facing charges after allegedly punching a bride in the face during her wedding reception.
The criminal complaint states that John Cianci, a guest at a wedding held ln Aug. 29 at The Woods at Eisler Farms in Connoquenessing Township, Butler County became “extremely angry and violent” after being cut off from alcohol. According to the complaint, he later struck the bride in the face with a roundhouse-style punch, knocking her to the ground.
According to the criminal complaint, Cianci struck three other people who attempted to restrain him after he had punched the bride. He was described as “extremely irate,” and his actions left several individuals injured while also causing “public inconvenience, annoyance, and alarm” among both the victims and attendees.
Cianci now faces four counts each of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment, as well as one count of public drunkenness. He was released on $5,000 bail and is awaiting his next court appearance.
