Altoona walloped Richmond again, 8-2 to extend their lead in the Eastern League playoff chase to five-and-a-half games with nine to go, while Erie passed Richmond in the standings and is now five back.
Nick Cimillo hit his 20th home run of the season for the Curve, a three-run shot. Javier Rivas also homered. And Konnor Griffin was hit by a pitch twice, making it four times in the series, including once in the head.
