CROSS COUNTRY
In a tri-meet at Marion Center, the Stingers’ girls swept West Shamokin and Portage, and the West Shamokin girls topped Portage. Brooke Slade, Macie Miller, and Nora Pollock of Marion Center took the top three places with West Shamokin’s Paige McCarthy and Sophie Baker finishing fourth and fifth. Portage’s top finisher was Josephine White, in sixth.
Marion Center’s boys also finished first, outrunning second-place Portage with West Shamokin finishing third. Marion Center’s Seth Boring and Adam Ryer finished 1-2, with Portage’s Nolan Westover third, the Stingers’ Carson Wells fourth, and the Mustangs’ Logan Gentile fifth. West Shamokin’s best runner was Peyton Moore, in eighth.
In the Junior High/Middle School races, Marion Center’s girls edged Portage with West Shamokin fielding only two runners. Top finisher was MC’s Anna Pollock.
The Stingers’ boys outran West Shamokin, with Portage running only two boys. Silas Pollock led the way for MC.
GIRLS GOLF
The Indiana girls have won four matches in a row, and yesterday’s win over Latrobe was by the slimmest of margins, a single stroke, 240-241.
Julia Antonacci and Liliana Manzi both shot 56 to lead Indiana at the historic Latrobe Country Club, with Lyla Pangonis shooting 60 and Lelise Allison a 68. Latrobe’s Gia Petrazio was the medalist with a 47.
