Westmoreland County Judge Scott Mears says his Facebook account has been taken over by a scammer.
According to Mears (pictured), the individual locked him out of the account and posted a fraudulent message, impersonating him and attempting to sell vehicles, furniture, and other items allegedly belonging to his uncle. The judge stresses that these claims are false and that the scammer is only trying to collect payments for goods they do not own.
State police are investigating, and Judge Mears says he is working with Meta to have the post removed.
