The Altoona Curve routed Harrisburg last night 14-3 Friday night, but it was the work of Nick Cimillo that caught everyone’s attention.
The Curve’s first baseman hit for the cycle on the night after starting the evening off with a strikeout in the first inning. He hit a single in the third, a double in the fourth, a homer in the 5th and finished his night with a triple in the 8th. His solo shot was part of a five home-run night for the Curve as Konnor Griffin and Esmerlyn Valdez each had two homers.
The win gives Altoona a one-game lead over Richmond in the Eastern League Southwest Division second-half playoff standings with 14 games left in the season. The Curve and the Senators play again tonight. Dominic Perachi will start for the Altoona.
