A Greensburg man is facing charges after allegedly stabbing a woman at an apartment over the weekend, and police said they seized about 450 stamp bags of heroin during the investigation.
Police said they were called to Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital around 9 a.m. Sunday, when the woman arrived with a stab wound to her leg. She told officers the incident happened at the Eastmont Drive residence of 30-year-old Daniel Shane Costello. Investigators reported finding blood inside the apartment along with a recently washed kitchen knife.
According to police, Costello told them that the woman stabbed herself.
Costello was arrested on aggravated assault charges, and authorities also filed drug-related counts after discovering the heroin in the home.
