More than 20 people were hurt when a school bus carrying junior high football players crashed on a rural road north of Pittsburgh.
According to school officials, the Aliquippa Junior High team was headed to an 11 am Saturday game at against Pine-Richland when the accident happened in Beaver County.
The crash was on Shaffer Road in Economy Borough, which is located across the Ohio River from Aliquippa. Local reports say the bus lost control rounding a curve, left the roadway, and hit a utility pole.
Police confirmed there were 25 children on board; 21 were taken to nearby hospitals. Most suffered only minor injuries, though one child remains in critical condition.
